Organizational Design, Talent Management & Workforce Consultant

There is work to be done. We are on the cusp of tremendous growth and need an organizational structure and talent management strategy that is going to assure quality services, drive innovation, and sustain a culture of high performance in a complex health care setting.

We are seeking a skilled and capable team player that has demonstrated experience in organizational design, change management, workforce management and cultural competency. This individual must be able to learn and understand a unique work environment that includes multi-disciplinary practitioners, our volunteers, and the voices of our clients with lived experience of mental illness and their families.

Contract: April 2017 – January 2018

Location: York Region (head office is Newmarket, ON)

Position Outcomes:
We are seeking an individual to lead an organizational review, drawing upon global best practices to:

  1. develop an organizational structure which meets current and future needs and effectively and efficiently facilitates growth;
  2. complete the final stage of an internal job evaluation process which defines the roles and compensation structure which best meets the agency’s needs;
  3. identify a workflow structure, policies and procedures which will improve efficiency and productivity;
  4. develop a plan for implementation and change management; and
  5. continue implementation and oversight of cultural competency strategy as part of workforce and talent management and leadership development initiatives.

All recommendations for change must uphold and contribute to the organization’s mission, values and corporate culture.

This position reports to and is supervised by the CEO and works closely with the senior leadership team.


  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Organizational Behaviour, Psychology, Social Sciences, or related field;
  • 7-10 years of experience in human resources consulting and/or leadership with in-depth experience in organizational design, change management, human resources strategy and business development;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver commitments as an individual contributor and within a project team;
  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural competency, diversity and inclusion and workplace mental health best practices;
  • Experience in health care related field is an asset;
  • Attention to detail and commitment to deliver high-quality work products;
  • Strong business acumen;
  • Work well during times of transition and be able to help others manage and adjust to change;
  • High degree of system-level thinking, customer focus, adaptability and delivery of results;
  • Ability to influence using strong consultation and facilitation skills;
  • Ability to coach, counsel, and guide staff members across all levels of an organization; this includes being able to connect meaningfully with a variety of stakeholders engaged with our organization such as volunteers, client with lived experience of mental illness and families;
  • Skilled at anticipating the long-term impact of all decisions and able to take a broad approach to problem-solving;
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills;
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, collaboration tools and workflow software;
  • A valid Canadian driver’s license, a minimum $1,000,000 third party liability insurance; and
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check).

Working Conditions: Office work, work in the community, occasional weekend/evening hours may be required
